The ninth session of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) will bring together senior executives from national geospatial information, statistical authorities within the Member States and international geospatial experts from across the globe to discuss the global geospatial information agenda.
Among other issues, the Committee will address geospatial information for sustainable development. It will consider, inter alia, efforts to develop and provide guidance on data disaggregation by geographic location, the aggregation of geocoded unit-level data and approaches to leverage production-ready Earth observation time-series data sets made available by space agencies for the production of indicators. The Committee will also discuss efforts and progress made to ensure that the contribution of the global geospatial information community to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development remains rigorous and relevant.
