The SDG Philanthropy Platform has launched a brand-new China country page and will aim to regularly update the page with helpful information, articles, blogs, reports and initiatives from China, and are welcoming insights and stories from the field.
The SDG philanthropy platform is an online collaboration platform that provides access to information on what their partners are doing, real-time data on relevant SDGs, and events and solutions that funders and others are supporting. The platform is led by the United Nations Development Programme and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and supported by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Ford Foundation, Brach Family Charitable Foundation, and UN Foundation.
According to the the platform, ‘While philanthropy in China is currently at a nascent stage, it has grown rapidly in recent years. The total amount of charitable donations has increased by 66 per cent between 2009 and 2014, while the number of charitable organizations have multiplied almost five times between 2004 and 2014.’
