IMO will use the 2020 World Maritime theme to highlight the contributions of shipping and the Organization to building a sustainable future. The IMO Secretary-General highlighted contributions, including the implementation of the Ballast Water Management Convention, adoption of measures to reduce GHG emissions, and efforts to reduce marine litter and protect the polar regions.
