The Access Challenge is hosting the second annual One by One high-level Conference and Dinner on the theme, ‘Achieving UHC: A Sustainable Future for Africa,’ immediately following the UN General Assembly’s High-level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage and the Climate Action Summit.
This year’s conference will showcase African leadership and African-led solutions through a series of conversations on effective collaboration between the health and environmental sectors in order to achieve UHC in Africa by 2030. High-level panelists will discuss specific overlapping agendas and opportunities for collaboration within prevention, health promotion, health system strengthening and climate adaptation. UHC and climate adaptation have similar progress metrics and determinants of each other’s success.
The One by One: Target 2030 Campaign is a multi-level advocacy initiative led by The Access Challenge and former President of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete, in support of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) UHC Agenda. The campaign is designed to help drive the collaborative commitment of 55 African governments towards meaningful progress on Universal Access to Health by 2030.
