World Population Day 2020

Decent Work and Economic Growth, Gender Equality, No Poverty, Peace Justice and Strong Institutions, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Zero Hunger

World Population Day, which calls attention to the urgency and importance of population issues, was established by the then-Governing Council of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), in 1989. It was an outgrowth of the interest generated by the ‘Day of Five Billion,’ which was observed on 11 July 1987.
